“The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated” ~ Gandhi
Before we even start to really talk about animal communication, there are two major challenges to address. The first is that intuition and clairvoyant seeing is the realm of a small select group of people and not the average person – certainly not ourselves.
You may even have doubts as to what is really happening with that small select group of people – are they actually getting information from their higher consciousness – or the higher consciousness of another? Intuitive thinking isn’t the great mystery we sometimes make it out to be.
It’s a very simple and subtle impression that we receive when we’re open to it. For some it’s a thought, for others a feeling, and still others a physical sensation.
When you think of someone and then five minutes later they call, that’s intuition at work. Or when you know who is calling before you pick up the phone.
When you know you’re being lied to, when you sense how someone is feeling, when you have a sudden unexplainable like or dislike – all this is intuition.
Your higher consciousness communicating with you.
We’ve all experienced it to a larger or smaller degree, we can all develop it, and we can use it to relate to each other as well as communicate with animals.
The second challenge regarding animal communication is the mistaken belief that animals are inferior and that they are not spiritual creatures.
It’s easy to look at the instinctual life of animals and feel that we are naturally superior due to choice, freedom, reasoning. But it’s important to remember that these are simply differences between species – not a hierarchy.
If you’ve ever spent time with animals it’s easy to see their spiritual natures. They have a loyalty and a compassion that is spontaneous and all-encompassing.
We share this life with our animal companions, we are all made of the same matter and we all have the capacity to connect with what is natural and divine.
Though most animals use sound, their main method of communication is telepathy.
As humans we’ve developed our verbal skills as our main method. This crowds out our natural telepathic skills – but those skills are still there, waiting to be developed.
Communicating with animals is a matter of connecting with the animal and using your intuition to receive the messages they are sending. It’s as easy as that.
There are a number of ways this can happen for the individual.
You can receive feelings from the animal. Get still, focus on the animal you’re communicating with and ask how he or she is doing. Stay in your quiet place and notice what feelings come up. Are you quickly happier? Sad? Content? These new feelings are coming from the animal as a simple way to share their current state.
Another way to communicate is by receiving physical sensations.
If you suspect an animal is in pain, you can get still and ask him or her where they feel pain or what might be wrong. As you focus, you may feel physical pain in the part of your body where the animal is feeling pain. It’s also possible that you may receive a mental image of the hurt body part.
It may seem strange and impossible, but it’s actually a very simple and profound way to communicate.
And it can be used in any number of situations. You can deepen a relationship with a pet, address behavior issues, inquire about quality of life and end of life issues, find lost animals, or introduce new animals into the home.
Once you open the door to this type of communication, the benefits can be endless.
On our spiritual tour to Assisi in 2015, we’ll spend two days in a workshop to learn this beautiful method of communication. If you’re interested in opening your heart and mind to a new way of interacting with life, we hope you’ll join us!
